CROWN HILL CEMETERY IS NOT FOR SALE

To Our Friends, Families and Neighbors,
We were just as surprised as anyone by the recent news story. We were not contacted by anyone regarding the story. We were also surprised because it was essentially a reinterpretation of a news story concerning the property at the beginning of 2024.
The most important piece of information is that CROWN HILL CEMETERY IS NOT FOR SALE. No one is selling the cemetery and by law it will remain a cemetery in perpetuity. All the burials, all the plots, all the memorials and Pre-arrangements remain completely secure. There will be no developments on the cemetery property.
The only part of the property that is for sale is the office building & parking area. However, that is being disputed and I do not believe it will sell. Still even if the office was sold it would have no impact on the cemetery. Even the entrance and roadway would remain unaffected.
The corner lot mentioned in the cemetery is NOT zoned for cemetery usage, has NEVER had a burial on it and was already sold years ago. It was the section of the property where we kept excess until it was hauled away. Any development there is news to us as we have had no contact with the owners of that lot and have seen no activity there in a few years.
Crown Hill Cemetery is not going anywhere. We have been here for 122 years and we will continue to serve our community for many more years to come.
